I thought I would post some pics of some of last yrs caving trips. This in Friddle cave. Where the zip line is. We dropped the pit doing some rope change over practice with some VERY muddy rope. Some friends with me & the wife on a cave / rappeling trip in a saltpeter cave along the duck river. Some of yall might have seen this pic on the back of the Sept 05 NSS magazine. I'm on the right with my back to the camera & my paramedic partner ( Joanna) from work is on the left. We were doing a mock rescue for NCRC. The cave was Mikes wolf cave . It is not far from Union Hill,Alabama. Jeff Burns took this pic Here I am fixing to make the drop in Yankee Hole pit.

Cool, pictures. What kind of ropes you using there in the last picture.
My brothers and I are looking at getting some for our cave expeditions and was wondering what a good type would be.
I have seen Petzel and PMI and Blue water advertised but I didn't know which will last the longest.
Thanks

In the last pic I am on 8m rope. The other one beside me is 11m PMI Pit Rope. Not sure what kind the 8m is. That pit is 125' to the first stop.

I thought that one rope looked smaller than the ones I use here at work. ( 11 and 12.5 mm) Would the 8mm do good for a fat boy like me?

Well I weight 210. Yeah at work we use 11m PMI Pit Rope. That 8m was a buddy of mine & we were seeing if it had as much bounce to it as 11m. It dont.

Friddle is closed per landowner.
Yankee Hole is on private property too.
