Hey, what's everyone's favorite cave food or snacks is to take on caving trips?
Some of my favorites are a Peanut Butter sandwich, Hershey's Chocolate Candy Bars, Beef sticks and/or Beef jerky. ;D
What's your favorite?

Well, I guess my favorite would be peanut butter ritz crackers(home made), Snickers, payday candy bars.
Then if we are wanting something we can warm and eat, I guess we could say Ramon noodles on the coke can stove. Just boil the water and enjoy some warm food or coco.

I usually take a homemade mix of nuts, M&Ms, and dried fruit. This past weekend I saw someone snacking on something that changed the way I look at "cave food". She had wrapped up in foil a soft tortilla with a nice mix of meat and cheese inside all wrapped up and portable. I think I'll be changing what I'm packing!!! Great Idea!!

Humm...that soft tortilla sounds like a very practical cave food to me. I might have to try that one. For a yummy snack try a soft taco shell with guacamole. And I'm happy Tim mentioned the Clif Shot Energy Gels. I had forgotten about those. But I have only tried the regular energy gel - is the caffeine energy gel better?

Yea all those "portable foods" being advertised at a certain pseudo mexican fast food place might give some of us ideas. One must however be careful of harmful gaseous emmissions that can result from eating such culinary delights in caves! Beware the crawlways! Alas I digress... My favorite cave food is usually that offered by new cavers who tend to bring all manner of heavy but delicious combinations of things in their packs! I am usually more than willing to help them lighten the load!
